University of Warwick Opera Society
Welcome to Opera Warwick
Opera Warwick is a welcoming and inclusive place for both complete beginners and hardcore fans of opera. We are a passionate group of students on a mission to emphasise the fun in opera and dispel the myth that opera is for the old and boring.
Who We Are
Opera Warwick brings likeminded people together to have fun with classical music.
Based at the University of Warwick, we run activites and create innovative opera productions (in English) with our friends at Warwick Arts Centre. We want to introduce opera to a new generation, and create opportunities for young artists and performers who may not otherwise get a chance to work with operatic material.
Everyone is welcome at OpWa, whether you're a singer, actor, musician, director, writer, or just someone who wants to give it a go!
How To Get Involved
We always love to welcome new members, regardless of experience! The majority of our members are students at Warwick Uni, but anyone is welcome to join us. Join us on social media and find out about our latest events!
In order to support the society, we ask those who regularly attend our activities to purchase a society membeship through Warwick's Student Union. This small fee helps cover our running costs and allows us to easily contact you about our events! If you're not a Warwick Uni student, you will need to create a guest account on the website and purchase an Associate membership.

Putting on a show
Would you like to direct or produce our next performance? Here is the Submissions policy. This document contains all the information you'll need to make a Pack; a plan which can then go on to become a production. We support young directors who want to grow their portofolios and push the boundaries of new and exciting Opera. So don't hesitate and give it a go!
Friends of OpWa
Opera society members are active participants in the musical community of the University of Warwick. You can find members who are part of Warwick Chamber Choir, Warwick Choir, Warwick Symphony Orchestra, Brass & Wind societies, Musical Theatre Warwick and many others. Wherever you are, there'll be a friendly OpWa face!
